Radiothon became a part of Children’s Miracle Network in 1997 when Bob Lind, a radio professional with more than 25 years in the industry, joined the organization. He knew from experience that Radiothons are quality broadcasting that can create a unique image for radio stations—an image that says this is the station that cares for kids.
The Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon staff now has 13 team members with extensive histories in the radio industry including on-air, programming, sales, production, promotions and management. Creating an event that is good for the station while benefiting their local hospital has been very successful.
More than 337 stations now participate in Radiothons each year and have raised more than $275 million to date for children’s hospitals. Monies raised stay local playing to the greatest advantage of terrestrial radio. It is great stories about great kids, right in the station’s local community.
