Publix is known for its philosophy of pleasing the customer; the Publix guarantee to never knowingly disappoint their customers is legendary in the industry. When you walk into a Publix store, you are sure to notice the smiles on the associates’ faces. Since becoming a sponsor of Children’s Miracle Network, Publix has raised over $14.5 million; and, in just three weeks in 2008, the Publix Miracle Balloon campaign raised more than $1.1 million.
Publix Super Markets, based in Lakeland, Fla., supports Children’s Miracle Network through in-store fund raising and the Produce for Kids campaign. Publix Super Markets tops the list of privately-owned supermarket operators in the United States. By emphasizing service and a family-friendly image rather than price, Publix has grown faster and been more profitable than other rivals. Most of its 1000 stores are in Florida, but it also operates in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee. All Publix stores are encouraged to participate in Children’s Miracle Network promotions.
As the 2009 Miracle Balloon campaign approaches, all stores are actively preparing for another outstanding year of helping Publix meet their continued goal of putting smiles on the faces of kids battling illness or injury.
