Valero Energy Corporation is proud to be the largest refiner in North America with 16 refineries and a combined throughput capacity of 3 million barrels per day. But more than being the largest refiner, Valero and its employees are proud of their commitment to help make their communities a better place. This commitment runs from Valero’s corporate office to its refineries to the thousands of retail sites across the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean. For over 14 years, Valero has partnered with Children’s Miracle Network to raise funds for local children’s hospitals in many of the areas where employees live and work. Valero is committed to raising funds to give children access to the best health care, the latest technology and the most advanced medical facilities available. Since 1995, Valero employees have raised over $9 million dollars for their local children’s hospitals. These funds were raised $1 at a time through their “Miracle Balloon” icon campaign. Valero’s 2008 retail campaign raised over $1.39 million, an 18 percent increase over 2007!
